Sweeping the Audio Tracks and Beeps
To cause the audio to sweep in volume from one side to the other, adjust the sweep slider in the audio line on the program screen.
With the slider set all the way to the left, the audio tracks will play over and over, without volume sweeping, and with the slider to extreme right, the sound volume will sweep from side to side 100% resulting in 100% volume in one ear and 0% volume in the other with the passes. With the slider mid-way, you will find the changes more subtle, as when the volume is maximum on one side, there will also be a lesser volume on the contralateral side.
If you select the "high surf" sound file, for example, you would hear the waves more prominently in the left ear, then the right ear etc. This is a more gradual bilateral change than the discrete beep mode. You may find that a slowly sweeping track tends to elicit a sense of relaxation in your clients, particularly when combined with a sweeping nature image.
To alter the laterality of beep sounds, you must adjust this through the Sound selection on the menu bar under Advanced Settings. There is no sweep slider for beeps, as this is something that most clinicians will not change. The effect of changing the beep laterality is to alter the amount of beep sound in the contralateral ear, when the volume is 100% in the other.
You can define the parameters of sound sweeping/panning more specifically in the Sound drop-down box, under Advanced Sound Settings.
