Overview of Procedures
Quick Start of Neurolateral software:
1. Click on the Windows Start button, go to Programs, then Neurolateral. The program will open, and prompt you to accept the license agreement. You will then be taken to the preview screen. Please note if you have purchased the full version, you must send in your unique serial number from the first Neurolateral screen to permanently unlock the program, but you have several days grace period in which to do this. (See licensing)
1. Click on the blue button at the top of the screen entitled Open New.
2. Decide which mode/s of stimulation you would like to use. (The modes are Visual, Auditory, Tactile and Special.)
3. Define the details of those modes, by selecting options on the program screen.
4. Click on the Preview button at the top of the Neurolateral screen. If the preview is acceptable to you and the client, click on the large Start button at the top right. (This will change the screen so that the entire viewing area consists of the selected background color.) To return to the preview screen, press the Escape key. The Escape key toggles back and forth between the preview and full screen views.
5. To start and stop sets, use the left mouse button. To increase or decrease speed during sets scroll with the middle mouse control. You may also change the direction of movement of the object by right-clicking on either side of the screen. It is easier to see how the direction is changing, if you do this while the object is moving.
6. If you have a Neuroport tactile box, insert an alkaline battery (model 1) or make sure your re-chargeable battery is charged (model 2), connect it to the COM (9 pin) port on your computer (model 1), or the USB port (model 2) and plug in a set of pulsers. Then, to use tactile mode, click the tactile check box on the screen.
