Objects:
Select the basic rectangle, diamond, circle or line and adjust its width and overall size with the arrows.
Pick a color for the object, and for the background, from the popular colors on the the screen or custom palette.
Next, choose the path of movement. You may determine whether the object or image sweeps smoothly across the screen, or appears intermittently on each side. Pick the speed of movement and you're ready to go!
In the sample screen shot above, the clinician has chosen a yellow oval on a dark blue background. Above, you see the preview screen. When re-processing, the client views the oval moving back and forth on the full computer screen.

It's just as easy to select an image, using the 'face' icon on the main screen.
A laminated image key is supplied with the software for your convenience.
Some people like to change the background color of the screen to match the border of the picture, so that the image blends well with the background when moving.
Adjust the size, speed and direction, and begin.
The "jack in the box" image on a white background is shown below.
There are many other creative uses of images in Neurolateral. For example, a nature image such as "lighthouse window" can be increased in size and set to sweep slowly, with the "gulls and surf" audio selected. You may find that clients enjoy this as an aid to closing down a session or for enhancing relaxation or resource installation. Anti-habituation Option:
You may select the anti-habituation option for speed and/or direction of movement.
This causes the object to vary slightly and randomly in it's direction of movement and/or in it's speed of movement, to prevent habituation to the stimulus.
These options more closely mimic the natural variation present when EMDR is performed without the assistance of technology.
